Shipping & Delivery

Courier options, transit times, packaging standards and the customs documents that travel with every Holycome shipment.

Jewellery is high value and low weight, so air freight is the default. This page sets out what we ship, when, and what arrives with your carton.

Freight is quoted per shipment based on weight and destination. As a guide, express courier for a 2 kg parcel to the United States or the European Union typically lands between USD 35 and USD 60.

Production lead time before dispatch

  • Stock designs: 7–15 days after deposit and approval.
  • Certified or custom production: 10–20 days.
  • Samples: 3–7 days for catalogue designs, 7–12 days for custom samples.

Peak season (August–November) can add two to three working days. We quote conservatively and tell you immediately if a date is at risk.

Packing standards

  1. Every piece is ultrasonically cleaned and inspected before packing.
  2. Individual poly bag or pouch per piece so stones cannot contact each other in transit.
  3. Anti-tarnish paper and desiccant for sterling silver, which discolours in humid transit.
  4. Inner rigid box, then a sealed export carton with the PO number printed on the outside.
  5. Photographs of the packed order sent to you for approval before the courier collects.

Documents in every shipment

  • Commercial invoice stating goods description, quantity, unit value, total value, currency and incoterm
  • Packing list with SKU, quantity, net weight and certificate numbers per line
  • Certificate copies matched to the stones supplied
  • Material declaration covering metal content and plating
  • Air waybill or bill of lading consistent with the invoice value

Customs, duties and taxes

Import duty and VAT are the buyer's responsibility and depend on the classification of the goods and your country's rules. We provide accurate documentation and the HS code we normally use so your broker can pre-clear the shipment. We do not undervalue goods: it caps your insurance, undermines a loss claim and exposes you to penalties.

Lost or damaged shipments

Every parcel is insured for its full declared value. If a shipment is lost or arrives damaged, notify us within 7 days of the recorded delivery date with photographs of the carton and contents. We open a claim with the courier and, where the claim is accepted, replace the affected items or credit your account.

Consolidation and partial shipments

If part of your order is ready earlier than the rest, we can either hold everything for a single consolidated shipment — which is usually cheaper — or split the order so the ready items ship first. Splitting adds freight cost, so we quote both options rather than deciding for you. For accounts placing multiple orders in a month, we can consolidate into a weekly shipment and use the freight saving to offset express rates on the urgent portion.

Insurance and declared value

Every parcel is insured for its full declared value. We do not under-declare: a lower declared value reduces duty in the short term but caps your insurance payout, weakens a loss claim and exposes you to audit penalties. For high-value bridal parcels we recommend express courier with signature required, and we can arrange door-to-door delivery to a residential or business address according to your preference.

Receiving checklist for your warehouse

  1. Check the carton count and outer condition against the packing list before signing for the delivery.
  2. Photograph any external damage before opening — this is the evidence the courier claim requires.
  3. Reconcile SKUs, quantities and certificate numbers line by line against the packing list.
  4. Report any discrepancy within 7 days, with photographs, to your account manager.
  5. Store silver in the supplied anti-tarnish packaging with desiccant until it is displayed or shipped on.
